Deconstruction with consideration - electric joint cutter in use

Abril 26, 2022

LISSMAC electric floor saws dismantle 3,200 m² concrete floor slab

The floor slab of a central warehouse has to come out - while the plant is still in operation. Precise cutting instead of rough hammering and quiet electric power instead of piercing diesel sound solve two challenges the executing company Höhns-Bau from Bothel is confronted with: The work had to be carried out without vibration and noise - and, of course, as quickly as possible. The industrial construction professionals chose the two most powerful electric floor saws from LISSMAC: COMPACTCUT 501 E and 601 E for the large-scale indoor operation under tough conditions.

Only a few steps separate the deconstruction zone from the shelves where valuable goods are stacked house-high up to the hall ceiling. "Rough equipment such as pneumatic or hydraulic hammers, which shake the building fabric to the core, make a deafening noise and swirl dust all the way to the roof, is taboo for this job," says Dirk Klindtwort, area sales manager at LISSMAC. In view of the size of the job, however, power is also required, despite all the necessary consideration. The plan of the professionals from Höhns-Bau is to cut the 25 cm thick rolled concrete into pieces that can be handled by a forklift truck. The cut length, which divides the 3,200 m² slab like a checkerboard, adds up to 3,650 linear meters. "Exactly for such complex requirement profiles, we have created our electric floor cutter top class. COMPACTCUT 501 E and 601 E operate emission-free and without engine noise. They protect people and the environment, but don't skimp on performance and endurance," says Klindtwort. The electric floor cutters tackle the huge floor slab as a powerful cutting team. The 501 E cuts forward 10 cm deep, the 601 E cuts through to 25 cm.

At first glance, the COMPACTCUT 501 E and 601 E high-performance floor saws are virtually indistinguishable. They share the same robust chassis with a low center of gravity, which helps the user-friendly machines to achieve excellent straight-line stability and forms the basis for LISSMAC's typical long service life. As the top model in the E series, the COMPACTCUT 601 E operates with a 22 kW 400 V motor with mains-saving soft start and frequency converter. "This equipment detail is particularly useful," says Klindtwort. "The operator can regulate the cutting shaft speed continuously from 850 to 1,850 1/min and adjust it as best as possible to the saw blade diameter and the application." For the 25 cm deep cuts through the rolled concrete floor, the professionals from Höhns-Bau chose the 700 mm diameter BSP 101 E saw blade from LISSMAC, which was specially designed for high-torque electric floor saws. Up to 1,000 mm would be possible with the 601 E.

The 400 V motor of the COMPACTCUT 501 E, which also drives saw blades up to 1,000 mm in size and powerfully pulls through a constant cutting shaft speed of 1,000 1/min, has an output of 15 kW. Both the 501 E and the 601 E achieve a maximum cutting depth of 420 mm. Optimally suited for the 10 cm deep pre-cuts through the concrete slab of the warehouse is the 600 mm BSP 101 E electric floor saw blade from LISSMAC, which advantageously combines cutting performance with durability. Damage to the saw blade is prevented by the sensitive hydraulic lowering and lifting of the valuable cutting tool, which both machines are capable of. The infinitely adjustable feed system of COMPACTCUT 501 E and 601 E, which is equipped with a differential on the driven rear axle, saves power for the operator. It is thanks to this practical feature that the powerful machines require little physical effort to turn and are brought back on course just as quickly as effortlessly after turning. "For six weeks, man and machine completed three and a half strenuous kilometers of cutting length from hall wall to hall wall without fail. Performance, durability and user-friendliness - the classic LISSMAC virtues - also characterize our new electric floor saws," says Klindtwort.
